OUR STORY

Nestled high in the Delaware River Valley between The Catskills and Poconos, the Delaware River House carries an uplifting Native American spiritual vibration, open architechture, and stunning views from virtually every room. Here, it truly feels as if you are living in nature while enjoying its highest frequencies. No matter the season, those who come here are astounded by the area's intense beauty, artsy character, and proximity to NYC. Visitors are heard to exclaim, "I feel like I just stepped into Shangra-La."  The Delaware River House, located on the waterfront in what the Lenapes named "Shohola, Place of Peace,"  truly is a place like no other.

On a practical note, the Delaware River House is approx. 2700sf, 1500 sf of which is located on two upper levels. It contains a gorgeous open sleep loft with sweeping views of the river, two bedrooms with tree views, and one bedroom situated near the Falls with river views. No matter where you are in the house, the sound of the Falls' running water will soothe you. All bedrooms contain full or queen beds.

The semi-finished lower level contains a fifth bedroom and an open workout room with a sleep couch.  The workout room is equipped with a BoFlex machine, various weights, inversion machine, excercise bike, weighted hula hoop, and mini-trampoline--all of which can be enjoyed with views of the river.

There is a wood stove for wintertime, as well as a woodburning fireplace. A baby grand piano is situated in the great room. There are two full baths with plans for another downstairs. Each bathroom is equipped with a bidet. An additional hot and cold shower is located outside. A hot tub perches upon the cliff over the river, beneath the riverfront porch, which contains outdoor seating and lounges to accomodate 14 or so people. Of these, the Vitruvian Man swing is a favorite.

The kitchen and dining areas seat 12 comfortably, and the kitchen comes equipped with highspeed blender and multiple juicers including a Breville, Champion masticating juicer, and Cuisinart citrus juicer. We want you to be healthy during your stay!  The area farmers markets, some of which operate year round, carry a rotating variety of organic produce, baked goods, local wines, homemade delicacies and works by artisans. Kayaking, tubing, canoing and ziplining is readily available, along with paintball parties and hiking among the areas multiple scenic trails.

The uses for the Delaware River House are wide and varied. It is an ideal location setting for film and photography shoots. Juice fast and writers retreats are at home here, as are all seminars of spiritual, healing and empowering nature. The riverfront porch can easily accomodate a sunrise yoga class for 10 or more people, while the greatroom can accomodate another 6 or so.

The house sleeps 10-12 people if beds are shared, or 5-6 private to semi-private sleeping quarters. For large groups, the area contains a plethora of both modern and historic B&B's. A list of these can be provided. Local restaurants range from those boasting celebrated city chefs, to those with unique local flavor. Food service is available.
